Sam Live!!
Get tickets here:
http://www.thecookingguy.com/samlive/
Think you know Sam? You may know him as "The Cooking Guy", but this Today Show regular with 12 Emmys, two television series, two cookbooks and a 3rd on the way didn't always cook (in fact he hardly ever cooked). Like others, he worked his way through many different jobs looking for the 'right' career.
Sam LIVE! is Sam doing what he loves to do, but this time on stage and in a way he's never done it before using mixed media with video, audio, photos etc. He'll be cooking, entertaining, talking about food, telling stories and sharing the often painful yet hilarious details of his mid-life career change that ended with him on tv. This is going to be a great night.
A portion of the ticket sales will be donated to the Salvation Army Kroc Center scholarship fund. Sam continues to support Joan Kroc's belief that given the opportunity, all children will have the chance to discover their own passion.

House of Love Blog-11 Questions Michelle
Che Bella's House of Love Blog featured Sam and me in there 11 questions...here's my answers.
http://houseoflove.chebellafiori.com/2010/02/21/11-questions-february-21-2010/
What fragrance provokes the most profound memory in you?
My husband’s cologne.
When I went away to college I stole a bottle of it from him and wore it all the time. I still love when I end up in a shirt of his that smells like it. In a weird way it reminds me of when we fell in love, what it’s like to miss him and how lucky I am to be with him.
What is your comfort food?
Cookies…fresh baked chocolate chip cookies!
Of the six senses (ESP included) which is the strongest for you?
Sight…I’m a very visual girl. I’d have to say that I live with my eyes wide open. I’ve had a camera in my hands since I could hold one.
What is your daily daydream?
To travel the world…I have a passion for exploring.
And to live in NY’s West Village in my very own brownstone.
If you found a hundred bucks on the sidewalk, what would you do with it?
Oh I’d spend it….probably at Nordstrom!
What is your existential bliss?
A Mani Pedi, glass of champagne, and a good book (or a good magazine, I’d be lying if I didn’t say it’s typically the new Vogue or US weekly).
What are you hopeful for?
A peaceful planet.
What is your greatest vice?
Shopping
What is your greatest virtue?
Kindness.
What do you want from life?
To live with purpose.
To grow old with the people I love.
To find peace and contentment.
To make a difference in the lives of others.
Does Heaven Exist?
I hope so…If there is, I believe heaven is different for everyone…it’s whatever you dream it to be filled with the people and things that you love. With that said, I’m still deciding what mine will be & I hope to have many years ahead of me to figure it out.

Howard Stern up date...
Still working on getting the audio from Sam's Howard Stern interview this morning...but in the meantime here's what they posted about it on Howard's site...
SAM 'THE COOKING GUY' IS A HERO
Howard got Sam 'The Cooking Guy' Zien on the line to celebrate the clip he played yesterday in which Sam told 'Today' show host Kathie Lee Gifford to stop talking over him. Sam shrugged it off: "I feel like, you know, they brought me up to do a job – like you were saying yesterday – and all of a sudden I had to cut through it somehow."
Sam said he was a little miffed when he was asked back to the 'Today' show a couple weeks later for a intervention segment with an 'etiquette expert': "I don't think I did anything wrong. I don't think I had anything to apologize for." Sam laughed that the second segment actually proved his point, as Kathie Lee and her co-host kept talking over the 'etiquette expert' as well. Sam added that he still appears on the 'Today' show, but: "When I'm on now, I'm not on with them."

Sam's going to be on Howard Stern tomorrow!!!
OMG...breaking Sam news!!! Sam is going to be on the Howard Stern show tomorrow 2/2 @ 8am Eastern time so 5am Pacific time on Howard's Sirius radio show. For those of you who don't have Sirius, I'll try and put it up tomorrow! This should be interesting!
From howardstern.com today.......
SAM ZIEN IS A HERO
Howard played a clip of Sam 'The Cooking Guy' Zien telling Kathie Lee Gifford to stop talking over him during a cooking segment on 'The Today Show' – and Kathie Lee's don't-talk-to-us-like-that retort: "She's got to gobble up the world, that hungry...Oh she's so hungry. Her hunger irritates me. Her hunger irritates me!" Howard thought Sam should've gone further: "He should've stuffed that food right in her mouth...he should've stuck his f’ing fork in her tongue."
Howard was particularly incensed with Kathie Lee's power play ("Can't anyone stand up to Kathie Lee? She's the devil! She's the devil!") and her incessant chatter: "Kathie Lee's a child. An attention sucking child." Howard later joked: "It's like having Scott Greenstein's in the room with you."

Another hard day laughing at work!
They say laughter is the best medicine. I'm not sure who "they" are, but I would have to agree. People ask me about my job all the time; what it's like, what I do, how is it working with Sam?.....
And my typical answer is AMAZING, I really do love my job and feel so lucky to get to do what I do. I think of how much I truly enjoy going to work, and how much fun I have. So in a nut shell, a day on a Sam shoot is always fun and full of laughter; and Monday's shoot was no different. In the middle of the shoot I mentioned how he hadn't been swearing much lately; which as most of you know is a bit unusual. So, in true Sam fashion he took my comment and ran with it.
Enjoy...it made me laugh & my hope is that it adds some laughter to your day too! To see the whole show, tune in this Sunday 1/31 @ 5:30 & 7pm on Channel 4.
