USS Ronald Reagan

On Monday 3/23 Sam, Shannon & I experienced the adventure of a lifetime. We were invited to visit the USS Ronald Reagan out at sea. It's the largest nuclear warship in the world & it was truly amazing. We flew out of Coronado's North Island Monday morning on a "COD" to The Regan about 100 miles off the coast. We landed on the carrier by "trapping", which is when the aircraft hooks one of 3 cables on the flight deck to stop it. The plane goes from 160 to 0 MPH is 2 seconds. After we landed we basically saw everything the ship had....well everything we could fit in while we were there. We even got to spend the night! It is so huge, it's like a small city, filled with 5,000 of the Navy's best. I've always had respect for the military, but this experience gave me a whole new outlook on Navy life and how incredibly hard the men & women work. I thought I knew, but really I had no idea. I could go on and on about everything but I don't want to give too much away!
