USS Ronald Reagan

On Monday 3/23 Sam, Shannon & I experienced the adventure of a lifetime. We were invited to visit the USS Ronald Reagan out at sea. It's the largest nuclear warship in the world & it was truly amazing. We flew out of Coronado's North Island Monday morning on a "COD" to The Regan about 100 miles off the coast. We landed on the carrier by "trapping", which is when the aircraft hooks one of 3 cables on the flight deck to stop it. The plane goes from 160 to 0 MPH is 2 seconds. After we landed we basically saw everything the ship had....well everything we could fit in while we were there. We even got to spend the night! It is so huge, it's like a small city, filled with 5,000 of the Navy's best. I've always had respect for the military, but this experience gave me a whole new outlook on Navy life and how incredibly hard the men & women work. I thought I knew, but really I had no idea. I could go on and on about everything but I don't want to give too much away!

SAM THE COOKING GUY & THE USS RONALD REAGAN 1 HOUR SPECIAL WILL DEBUT SUNDAY APRIL 26TH.......YOU REALLY DON'T WANT TO MISS IT!!!!

While it may be politically incorrect the correct term for female seamen is seamen. However you'd do better calling them all sailors, as that's a nice gender neutral term. Plus, I'm fairly certain there were some officers on board, and they hate to be called a seaman (male or female).

Sam,
Caught your show last night onboard the Ronald Reagan, and it totally ROCKED!!! I served onboard Reagan from 2006-2008 so it was exciting to see the ship again in action. Thank you for taking the time to showcase the men and women of the Navy's greatest ship!

Hi Sam,
Caught your show and saw my son working on the grill. Is there a way that I can get a copy of that show. We are really proud of him, and the fact that we should honor all of our service personal! Thank you.
